Study first

Review the ideas behind the questions

These notes help you check whether LinkedIn Ads measurement is ready before you optimize, export, or call a test result final.

Qualified leads need the right source

Qualified lead optimization uses later lead-quality signals, not just form fills or clicks.

  • Qualified leads optimization works with qualified lead data from Conversions API or CRM data connected through Business Manager using CRM Sync.
  • LinkedIn recommends creating at least one qualified lead conversion before creating the ad set.
  • LinkedIn recommends selecting only one qualified lead event source to support accurate reporting and optimization.
  • Qualified lead data must be shared within 30 days to be included in ad set optimization.

Conversion reporting has timing and modeling limits

Conversion reports can include clicked and viewed conversion paths, but not every source updates instantly.

  • Conversions & Leads view is available at campaign, ad set, and ad levels.
  • CSV conversions usually take 24 to 48 hours to appear and can take up to one week.
  • Conversion metrics include conversions, click conversions, view conversions, conversion rate, cost per conversion, conversion value, and return on ad spend.
  • LinkedIn may use modeled conversions or on-device conversion tracking when conversions cannot be attributed to individual users.

Exports and tests need the right readout

The right report or test result depends on what decision the team needs to make.

  • Conversion reports can be exported as Conversion performance or Conversion ad performance reports.
  • Top conversions shows the top five conversion events by volume and cost per conversion.
  • LinkedIn A/B tests can gather results as soon as two days after the start date, but the test needs to run for at least two weeks.
  • LinkedIn recommends waiting until 15 days after a Brand Lift test ends before accepting results as final.
