Review the ideas behind the questions
Review the setup choices that decide where Performance Max can send traffic and what signals it can use. The quiz asks you to catch risks before they turn into wasted spend or unclear reporting.
Start with goals and usable assets
Performance Max uses campaign goals, bidding, assets, and feeds to serve across Google inventory.
- Conversion goals should match the business action the campaign is meant to optimize.
- Asset groups need useful text, image, video, and related assets so the campaign has material to combine across placements.
- Asset group reporting can guide asset cleanup, but a high CPA in one view should be judged with context before removing useful assets.
Treat audience signals as guidance
Audience signals help Google Ads learn who is likely to convert, but they do not work like narrow manual targeting.
- Customer lists, custom segments, and other signals can help Performance Max find converting users faster.
- Audience signals are inputs for automation, not a hard limit on who can see ads.
- List processing and campaign learning need time, so a same-day signal change is not enough evidence for a final decision.
Control landing pages before launch
Final URL expansion can send users to landing pages beyond the URL entered in the campaign.
- URL exclusions can keep specific pages or site sections out of Final URL expansion.
- A page feed can guide which URLs are used, but it is not the same as reviewing URL expansion controls.
- If the campaign's own final URL is the wrong landing page, fix that setup choice instead of relying only on exclusions.
